Khalsa College, Amritsar
MARCH 2016
At Khalsa college we hosted a youth forum. We were introduced to the NSS (National Service Scheme) team in Amritsar. The NSS recruits college students to volunteer their time to make village environments clean and to ensure that kids in villages are motivated and moving
towards a stronger future path. During our visit with Khalsa College, we did a lecture in which we discussed vocational rehab with the college students. Vocational rehab is rehab provided to an addict or patient when the patient is in the ‘recovery phase of care’. We send patients for rehab so that while they are completing the treatment plan and are pre paring to leave the facility or hospital where they received care, they also develop skills to integrate back into society and into their families.
